Being only my second experience with “authentic” Indian food, I really did not go in with many expectations other than that I thought I would be eating a bunch of rice and some curry… Well, needless to say Aangan’s definitely changed my thoughts on that.

The first thing that I think that was most important to touch was the Service aspect all the wait staff were phenomonal. It seemed like no sooner did I drink my last little bit of water they were there almost instanteously refilling the glass. They were also very timely in bringing out our food and did a great job of “checking” up on us to see if we could use anything else.

Now to the food… We decided to go for the “family style” dinner, so everyone had the opportunity to try a bunch of different kinds of seasoned chicken. (I must say Meg L’s was the best though). The rice was great the appetizers were amazing!!! Oh yea and we had three “types” of Naan, how could you ask for anything else???

This is the second time I’ve been to Aangans and both times I’ve been impressed. The service was simply phenomenal… they left us alone to made decisions and then were quick to take our order and bring our food once we were ready… they kept our water glasses full (a must for the spicy food)… and they did so with a constant smile.

The food was also exceptional. We all ordered various forms of chicken and found the variety quite tasty. I ordered my chicken vindaloo to be somewhere between medium and spicy and it was just that — enough to leave your mouth burning a bit but not so overwhelming you couldn’t enjoy the taste.

The atmosphere is quaint and simple. The serving dishes were beautiful and the background music fitting for an Indian Restaurant.

I’ll be a repeat customer for sure!

Given that I can be a picky eater (particularly when it comes to spicy foods) I was approaching this evening’s meal with a sense of adventure and skepticism. I am happy to announce that I was pleased at the entire experience of the evening.

From the cozy aesthetics of the dining area, to the attentive service and the variety of menu choices Aangan’s proved to be a wonderful “find” and a place I would highly recommend. Quite honestly I didn’t think I liked Indian food - until I visited Aangan’s.

My only criticism would be that it seemed slightly pricey. But while it may not look like it at first - the portions sizes are significant and for the taste and the quality of service — it is worth it. And having wonderful company made the experience all the more enjoyable!

Aangan’s was my first experience with Indian food and the first impression was enough to bring me back.

The restaurant sits along a busy road in Harrisburg and seems to go unnoticed…if people only knew the treasure inside. I went into the evening full of excitement but with no expectations…I didn’t know what I was in for.

The inside is small and cozy, offering a warm welcome. The service was impeccable, they didn’t miss a beat. The staff was there when we needed them and gave us room to breathe when we seemed content. The appetizers were delicious and the Naan was amazing! When it came time for ordering, the “the family style” was the perfect choice. We all had a chance to sample various things on the menu and they were all superb.

Overall, my first experience with Indian food was without a doubt very pleasing! I will definitely be spreading the word to take a trip to Aangan’s for a wonderful dining experience.

Move over Passage to India. We’ve crowned a new winner for the best Indian food in town!

I was introduced to Indian cuisine back in middle school through a friend and her family. It was a successful foray into food outside of my conservative, Lancaster County, meat and potatoes culture. In my opinion, there is no other cuisine and atmosphere that stirs the senses in quite the same way. Aangan certainly did not disappoint.

I could comment about the service or remark on the quirky aqua-colored “waterfall”, but really this place is about unbelievable food and it deserves the stage. There were a lot of choices in the menu and I venture to guess that there’s not a dog among them (not literally either).

So, go for the love of great food if you go and as a bonus you’ll get fabulous service and plenty of leftovers. Enjoy!
