Da Pit's was pleasantly decorated considering its name  , and the decor had a city theme. We were greeted immediately upon entering and it was apparent that the owners take pride in what they do. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive.

The food could have been better. My meal, chicken breast with rice, was "toa" (tepid on arrival) and the quality of the chicken was equivalent to Red Robin... I expected a better quality because it seemed like the restaurant specialized in meat. I love BBQ sauce and could not wait to try to try Da Pit's version, but was disappointed to discover that it seemed to be more of a spiced ketchup. My meal did come with a good salad, however, and there were a variety of dressing choices, some being unique.

Overall, Da Pit's offered a relaxed setting in which diners could have leisurely conversation and friendly service.

Ok, so from my previous reviews you know I'm a fan of meat so going to a place called Da Pit's is certainly down my alley of expertise. First of all, I love the name. As a guy, the less I can say to get what I want is typically ideal. Heck, I would grunt if people could understand me. This being said, the name somehow subconciously speaks to my inner barbarian/hunter masculine being.
Of course this ended as soon as I entered the restaurant and was greeted by the elegant Chicago style decor, lighting and music. This was when I told my inner barbarian to take a hike and put on my metro game face. Ahh, I have missed my metro game face.
I agree with Meg Jones, the food was good, but not great. The atmosphere was certainly refreshing and the service was awesome. Overall, it's a great place to go to and certainly an enjoyable experience but the food is not something I'd write home about. Wait, can barbarians write?

Nestled right on 2nd Street in Harrisburg is a comfortable and friendly surprise - Da Pits. Let me tell you that this restaurant is anything but Da Pits! The staff is lovely, the atmosphere cozy and classy and the house music provided a fitting soundtrack for the evening.

The menu selection was varied and there were some great options - it was hard to choose. The menus were unique and made of metal - you could knock someone out cold with one if you tried. I just wish the meal would have knocked me over - but it didn't. Don't get me wrong - the food is good - just not stellar. The food is reasonably priced and every dish can be tailored to your liking, which is a plus.

It is safe to say that an evening at Da Pits would be enjoyable and memorable. You will leave saying how much you enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the options with the menu you'll just wonder why you aren't raving about the meal.
