I thought Smokey Bones was adequate. I did not think the quality of meat was any more special than other chains, such as Applebee’s, but the atmosphere/decor of the restaurant was definitely in the spirit of meat and all things manly. I loved the restaurant’s concept of serving heated bbq sauce, but thought the sauce could have been much, much tastier (more tangy). My sides were okay. Being an “almost vegetarian,” I would have preferred the restaurant mention their addition of pulled pork to the baked beans. Overall, the fun, unique atmosphere Smokey Bones provides would draw me back more than the food.

Smokey Bones can expect a revisit from me. The service was a little “off” that night but overall it was a very pleasant experience. The prices were very affordable and the portion sizes were more than enough. If you like meat, Smokey Bones has a table waiting for you. The pulled pork was delicious and the chicken left me wanting more. As far as the baked potatoes and the cornbread, nothing to write home over…but the baked beans were better than any others I’ve had. If the Bush’s baked beans pup has any knowledge of that recipe..I’ll be on a mission to hunt him down with a pocket full of dog bones.
